With our support, it is possible to write a thesis in German and obtain the recognized degree of PhDr. “Doctor of Philosophy” / PhDr. “doktor filozofie.”

The doctoral degree (PhDr.) from DTI University corresponds to the second level of the Bologna classification and not to the third level of the Bologna classification. The doctoral degree “Doctor of Philosophy” may be used as PhDr. in Germany (as of 2024) before the name, e.g., PhDr. Max Mustermann, but may not be abbreviated as Dr.

The doctoral degree (PhDr.) may not be entered on a German identity card, even as a so-called “minor doctoral degree.” Since 2025, it is no longer possible to enter “Dr.” before the name on identity cards in Germany. Entries of “Dr.” are now only made in a separate data field.

Studying in Slovakia

Slovakia (Slovak: Slovensko, officially the Slovak Republic, Slovak: Slovenská republika) borders Austria, Czechia, Poland, Ukraine, and Hungary. The capital and largest city of the country is Bratislava. Slovakia has been a member of the European Union and NATO since 2004. In 2007, border controls with EU countries were abolished in accordance with the Schengen Agreement, and in 2009 Slovakia joined the eurozone. The country is a democratic parliamentary republic.

The education system in Slovakia comprises three levels: academic degrees of the 1st Bologna level (bachelor’s level), academic degrees of the 2nd Bologna level (master’s level) and academic degrees of the 3rd Bologna level (doctoral level).

The PhDr. degree is also referred to as a minor doctorate and is classified as the second Bologna level. The legally obtained title may be used before the name in Germany. More information on academic degrees in Slovakia:
